When Ava sleeps

So we have been having some issues with Ava consistantly sleeping, especially at night. She does good until about 3:00 or 4:00 am and then she likes to be up or fall asleep in my arms. I treasure the memories, but a little bit more sleep would be nice. When Ava sleeps she does sleep hard and at that point, I stop what I am doing at the house and take a nap. It makes me laugh when she sleeps like this with her mouth wide open! Sometimes she even snores.

Three Year Anniversary!

Adam and I in 2006

Adam and I in 2009

Today Adam and I celebrate our third year anniversary!! Wow, how life has changed in three short years. Adam and I met in 2004, dated 13 months, where engaged for 6 months and now have been married for three years! We have gone through both highs and lows but through it all our love and our relationships with the Lord have held us together and made our relationship strong! I love you Adam, and I am so glad you are my husband and the father of my child.

New trick!

Grasping with left hand

Grasping with right hand
This morning after I got Ava ready for the day, I put her on her activity mat with some of her toys while I walked across the house to throw away her diaper in her Diaper Champ, which is in her room. When I walked back into the room where Ava was, she had grasped on to her little butterfly and was lifting it up and down! Amazing! It was so neet to see her do it and "play" this morning. Oh the fun it is to watch Ava grow in every way everyday!

We are 6 pounds!!

Ava grows and grows everyday! Last night was bath night and before we gave her a bath we weighed her and we are now up to 6 pounds!! I am so excited because now I feel that she is the size of a true newborn! We still working on our eat, activity, sleep schedule. She does pretty good during the day, but lately the nights have been a little rough. I know this too will pass soon, so I am trying to enjoy every moment even, with only a few hours of sleep. Ava is so fun and a really good baby, I just think she is a social butterfly and just doesn't want to miss out on anything.

Happy St. Patrick's day

Ava had two doctor's appointments today. She first went to her pediatrian and her stomach was perfect and looks just like a "normal" infant. Good news is that Ava now weighs 5 lbs 14 oz! Almost six pounds. After the pediatrian, she went to the audiologist and her hearing was great! Thank you for all those who prayed about it. Ava and I have had a very busy day, but we got great news so it was worth it!

Lovey!

Grammy gave Ava this little lovey. It is a little pink Tulip with her name on it. Today I went in to check on her during her nap this afternoon and she was holding on to her lovey. Later that day, when she was playing on her Einstein play mat she was holding onto her lovey all on her own.

Up too early!

Ava sleeping on daddy's chest

This morning Ava got up a little too early. Adam got up with her and got ready for work. After getting ready Ava and Adam played and then Ava fell back to sleep on Adam's chest.

Breaking records!

YEAH!! We are over 5 pounds now!! Last night we weighed Miss Ava and she weighed 5.4 pounds!! She is getting longer and getting fat little cheeks. The best news is that her belly is looking great! It is not as extended and she is getting a chubby belly!

Sweet baby sleeping

AHHH, I have had a hard day!

Sweet sleeping baby!

Sweet sleeping baby!! I am so thankful to have Ava home and sleeping right next to me. Motherhood has been an adjustment, and I miss a full nights sleep, but all I have to do is look at this sweet face and it is all worth it!

Ava's Nursery

Green and pink polk a dot glider, and tree mural

"I will lay down and sleep in safety for you oh Lord make me dwell in safety" Psalm 4:8

Ava's nursery is finally completed!! Even though Ava is still sleeping in her cradle in our room, once she is off the heart monitor she will be sleeping in her own room. During the day we play in her room and even may start having naps in there soon. My very, very talented friend Kristen Chandler panted the dogwood tree mural an the verse sign over Ava's bed. I chose to paint a dogwood tree in her room, because it symbolizes what Christ did for us on the cross. Through his dying on the cross He made us white as snow.

My sweet angel sleeping

Doc came to visit Ava
Well, Ava has been home for one week. Grammy has come to visit and has been VERY helpfu. She has even taken Ava for two nigts so that Adam and I can sleep. Ava went to the eye doctor today and her eyes look great, which sometimes can be a problem with preemies. Also, she went to both her pediatrician and gastointerologist on Monday. She got two shots but took them like a champ. At the stomach doctor he just said to give less food at each feeding but more often. Ava's stomach seems to be better now that we have done that plan. I love being a mom and it is so fun to have Ava at home with me!
