"Let's go March of Dimes!"

Ava wanted to push her stroller rather then ride in it!

Today was the March of Dimes Walk for healthy babies! It was a great treat for Doc and Grammy and Brad, Carri, Hudson and McClellen to come out and support Ava in her first March of Dimes walk. Our team was call the Cooler Crew! During the race everyone on the Cooler Crew team wore a light purple bandanna. It represented that Ava was born premature. Ava was excited to see her NICU friends Noah and Katelyn during the walk. Ava, Noah and Katelyn were all in the NICU at the same time. In fact Ava and Katelyn were roommates! The Walk took place at Marietta Middle School and was 3 miles. Everyone did really good on during the race, though there was a little bit of fussiness (from the kiddos) by the end of the Walk.

After the Walk concluded, the Cooler Crew went to have lunch at Gabriel's in Marietta (yummy!). This is a special place for us because during the 57 days that Ava was in the NICU I think I (Abbey), at there at least 50 times. It just had a homey feel and delicious food. It was definitely a perfect place to take a deep breath, eats some great food and get recharged.

The Cooler Family: Easter 2011

We had such a great time celebrating Easter. We went to Greenville and have such wonderful time with Doc, Grammy, Brad, Carri, Hudson and McClellen. Ava LOVES her cousins. The weather was beautiful, so the kids had a great time playing outside. As the children played in the the cul-de-sac, it made Brad and I think about all the summer's we used to play with our buddies during the summer.

It was so fun going to ERBC and being to celebrate Easter not only with our family but with the church family that impacted my life as I grew up. As we celebrated the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, I was so grateful for the grace and mercy God has extened to my family.

Best Seat in the House!

Watching her show in the, best seat in the house!

The other day while I was making dinner I put in a DVD for Ava and let her play by herself. After I got everything going in kitchen, I walked back into the den and this is what I saw!! Don't worry I picked her up and made a pillow pallet for her to sit on. I don't want her to get over exposed to the randon....ha, ha!!

March of Dimes: "Walk for Babies"

Daddy, Mommy and Ava

Mommy and Ava

Ava just minutes after she was born: 12/30/08

Dear Family and Friends, Our sweet Ava was born 10 weeks early and weighed just 2lbs and 14 ounces. She spent a total of 57 days in the NICU at Kennestone Hospital. We are so thankful for the help, support and medical attention that was given to Ava by the wonderful doctors and nurses. Ava is now two years old and is doing incredible. Everyday she shows us her fighting spirit, spunky personality and joy for living.

Due to the research and work of the March of Dimes, Ava was able to receive life saving care and medical treatment. We will be walking in this year's "Walk for Babies" in honor of our precious Ava and with thankfulness for the March of Dimes. Please consider a donation to the March of Dimes in honor of Ava. Thank you for your help and support

Love, Adam and Abbey Cooler

Close Cousins

All the cousins in the sandbox

Kate and Ava

Sliding fun!

Nathan on the 4-wheeler

We are so blessed to have cousins that live close by. Ava loves to play with them and they always have fun together. Since yesterday was such a gorgeous day, we invited them over to play. It was a fun filled afternoon of playing in the sandbox, riding on cars and 4-wheelers, drawing with chalk and swinging and sliding.

Sunny Sunday

Playing in puddles at Pike's nursery

Fun at Burnt Hickory Park

This afternoon after a great morning at church and a good nap, we set out for some fun on this sunny day. Our first stop was to Bruster's ice cream (yummy!), for Ava's first ice cream cone. At Bruster's when you are under 48 inches tall you get a free baby ice cream. Ava loved her ice cream cone and even ate some of Mommy and Daddy's ice cream too. After the ice cream we had to run into Pike's nursery for Daddy to ask a question about our yard. Ava's favorite part was playing in the puddles and smelling the different plants. After a quick stop at Pike's we headed to check out the new Burnt Hickory Park. It is a new park in Paulding County. They have a new great playground and picnic area. Ava had fun time playing, climbing and sliding. By the time we got home, it was time for dinner and a good bath. Ava was DIRTY from the icecream, puddles and park...but it was a good dirty. We were all tired and ready for bed...what a blessed day!

Yummy picnic lunch

Ava had a super fun day today at the park. She was able to play at the park with both her play group friends and her school friends. She climbed up the rock mountain with Brody and Brock. Ava played on the swings with Maddy and enjoyed the slides with Lyla and Sailer. At the end of the afternoon she shared a picnic with her friends. I am so thankful for the fabulous friends that are part of Ava's little life. I have prayed and continue to pray daily that God would give Ava amazing, encouraging, close friends...so far my prayers have been answered.
