15 month appointment!

Ava had her 15 month appointment today! She is finally on the growth chart. She is in the 10% for height and 3% for weight. She is 29 inches tall and weighs 17 lbs and 14 ounces. Her doctor said tha she was doing great with her verbal skills...shocker! Her walking is getting better but we are going to have a "Babies Can't Wait" evaluation this week. Ava has started standing up on her own and has taken a few steps by herself, but I just want to make sure that she is right on track. Ava did have to have a one shot today, her tetnus shot. I hate when she gets shots, when she cries and hurts, I always cry too!

Hudson had a sports themed party

Mommy, Grammy and Ava!
This weekend was full of fun...again! Ava's big cousin Hudson turned three! He had a sports themed party and it was so much fun! It was at ERBC in the gym. Ava enjoyed playing with all of the toys and the open space. Ava and McClellen played really well together, though they are both pretty strong willed, so it was funny to see them try to one up each other for the toys!! On the way home on Sunday, Mommy and Daddy stopped at the lake to see all of the new renovations. Mommy, Grammy and Ava took a three generation picture. The first time we took one of these pictures was during Ava's time in the NICU. Today, was a much brighter, happier day for a picture!

Ava meeting Emma Kate for the first time!

"Luke, why do you just have a onesie on??"

Today Ava had a full day with her friends! In the morning she had playgroup with Caleb, AJ and Luke. It is so cute to hear her little friends say her name. Caleb calls Ava, "a-ba" and Luke calls Ava, "fa-fa". It is so fun to see them developing their language, playing and socializing together. After nap and lunch Ava and Mommy went over to Miss Pam's house to meet Ava's newest friend Emma Kate. Emma Kate is just 2 weeks old. Mommy and Miss Pam are in small group (Sunday School) together. Also, Miss Pam was one of the nurses that took care of Mommy when she had Ava. Miss Pam also helped Mommy out a few weeks ago when Mommy was not feeling too good, and helped the doctors figure out what was wrong.
One of the very fun things about Miss Pam's house is that she has two big dogs called Wiemaraners! Their names are Avery (boy) and Ella (girl). They both let Ava pet them and "love" on them. Ava just squeled and laughed anytime the dogs were around. It was so cute to see Ava playing, unafraid of these huge dogs. Though they were big, they were gentle giants!

Ava's and her baby stroller!

Yeah! Look at my new stroller

This is so fun!

Ava loving her Cabbage Patch kid!

Go Ava, go!
While Ava was in Greenville last week, she had a play date with her friend Mia. Mia had this really cool baby stroller, that also works as a walker. Ava loved it! Since Christmas is Dec. 25th and Ava's b-day is Dec 30th, Mommy felt the need to buy Ava a special treat today. Plus, we are working on Ava's walking and the stroller helps her stand up a little straighter when she is walking. Well, maybe Mommy, just used that as a valid excuse to spoil Ava today! While shopping at Wal-Mart, Mommy made a detour into the toy department and bought Ava this precious baby stroller. It is so fun to see Ava playing with the stroller and her baby dolls.

Weekend Fun

Making memories!

Daddy did a great job carrying Ava around

Ava really liked Nathan's tracker

Celebrating Nathan's 4th birthday
Ava had a great weekend. On Saturday she celebrated Nathan's 4th birthday. She really liked playing with all of Nathan's trucks and trackers. My prissy little girl in her dresses and bows wants to play with boy toys! On Sunday after church Mommy, Daddy and Ava went on a little hike at Kennesaw Mountain. Ava enjoyed looking all the trees, bugs and of course all the cute dogs on the trail. It was a beautiful Georgia day, so we had to take advantage of it and make some memories!

Ate dinner at 82 Queen...YUMMY!

Ate lunch at Magnolias one day...yummy!

Daddy had business conference in Charleston, SC this week, so Mommy went along for a small vacation and to mix and mingle at the two conference socials. While in Charleston Mommy was able to spend one of the days visiting with her very good friend Jill. Mommy and Jill have been friends since Mommy's college days...oh the memories. Daddy and Mommy enjoyed touring the city, eating at yummy resturants and just being able to spend some time together.

Ava's fun at Grammy and Doc's!

Cousins and Bff's

Ava was able to have a playdate with Mia!
While Mommy and Daddy went to Charleston for Daddy's business trip, Ava had a fun few days staying with Grammy and Doc. Ava loved being able to play with her cousins McClellen and Hudson. She also had fun playing with "big girl" toys with her "Greenville" friend, Mia!

Devotions with Daddy!

Every night Mommy and Daddy have family devotion time with Ava. Sometimes it is during dinner (like tonight) and sometimes it is after Ava takes her bath, before bed. The book that we use is "The New Bible In Pictures for Little Eyes." When Mommy was little her mom and dad (Grammy and Doc), used to do family devotions with the same devotion book with Mommy and Uncle Brad. Except back then, the devotion book had a different cover and was just called, 'The Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes." I guess the book got a makeover! Mommy and Daddy want to make sure that Ava knows about Jesus and His love for her and the amazing truths of the Bible, even at an early age.

Yummy Treat!

YUMMY!! Mommy has been holding out!
Today Ava had her first popsicle...it was a red, cherry popsicle. She thought it was yummy! Mommy was eating the popsicle while Ava was eating her graham cracker snack. I gave Ava a little taste and she snatched the popsicle out of my hand after about three tastes. The girl knows what she wants. Of course Ava and Mommy got very messy...but that is why God made soap!

Ava's first haircut!

The finished product..a cute little bob, and no more
MULLET!

OOOOH! I like getting my haircut

My hair was sprayed wet and slicked down

I watched cartoons while Miss Swan cut my hair

Mommy gave me a cracker so I would sit still
Ava got her first haircut today! As Ava's baby hair has grown out, it had grown into sort of a mullet..."Business in the front, party in the back!" So today after Gymboree class, Ava and Mommy went next door to Pigtails and Crewcuts (a kid's hair salon) for Ava to have her hair cut. She behaved perfectly while her hair was cut. Of course...a girl always has to look her best!

I like my cool sunshades

This bunny is so funny!

Look! The Easter Bunny came to visit Ava!

Ava had a great Easter morning. She got some great loot from the Easter bunny. She got sunglasses, sandals, candy, an Elmo book, a musical bunny and a big pink bunny. Then for church Ava was dressed in a cute, pink and green flowered dress. Mommy and Ava matched and tried to get Daddy to match too, but that did not happen! :):)
